A dependable monitoring solution for critical water access

MothNode is a remote tank monitoring system built for rural fire departments that depend on fire cisterns and dry hydrants for fire protection. Using low-power electronics, long-range LoRa and cellular telemetry, and precise liquid-level sensing, it automates water-level and battery monitoring, sends email and SMS alerts when thresholds are crossed, and supports on-demand checks. Every unit reports into the MothNode Dashboard, keeping critical water sources dependable across departments.

Why you should trust us

MothNode is built by LTRJ Labs and proven on the cisterns at our own test site.

Proven where it has to work

Our test site at Willis Point runs on fire cisterns and dry hydrants because city water simply is not available there. MothNode was built for that reality and is running on those tanks now, not on a bench.

Fits the tanks you already have

MothNode measures distance, so it works with any tank. Setup takes minutes and asks for two numbers: the maximum height and the empty floor height. No retrofit, no replacing what already works.

Catches what an inspection cannot

Cracked tanks and buried plumbing leak slowly and stay invisible from the surface. MothNode reads levels closely enough to separate a real loss from normal evaporation, logs the rate, and flags the tank for service.

Fewer trips, less wear

Manual checks mean long drives on rural roads to tanks that were probably fine. MothNode turns that into a proactive system, so a chief dispatches a crew when a tank asks for it and saves the volunteer hours and vehicle wear otherwise spent confirming nothing changed.
